Berkeley Cox leads the strategic direction of the Australian firm and drives execution against firm priorities and on its client, people, international, innovation and community agenda. Central to that role is ensuring that KWM Australia delivers real value to clients.

Prior to his appointment, Berkeley was Managing Partner for the firm’s Banking & Finance and Projects & Real Estate teams, and the leader of the Financial Services industry sector. Under his leadership, they have been recognised in numerous awards including ‘Best Provider to the Financial Services Sector’ and ‘Best Provider to the Power and Utilities Sector’ at the AFR Client Choice Awards, and ‘Innovation in Finance’ at the FT Asia Innovative Lawyers Awards.

Berkeley became a partner of legacy Mallesons Stephen Jaques in 2001 and managed a successful legal practice covering debt capital markets, funds management, structured finance, securitisation and derivatives. His background in transactional practice has provided him with critical insights into clients’ needs, expectations and commercial drivers.
